I call this one-of-a-kind axe a ‘hybrid’ because the profile is reminiscent of one of my favorite American axe patterns, but is forged and ground more like a scandinavian axe with a thin blade  and a short steep slightly convex bevel.  It is small enough for easy carry in a canoe (or even a backpack) but large and heavy enough to do some real work. Be it felling, limbing, bucking, splitting kindling or even carving. Comes with a custom made 8oz veg tan leather sheath. 

Blade: mild steel with inlaid 80CrV2 steel bit

Handle: hand rived hickory
