This peculiar looking gouge is for finishing the bottom of hollows in bowls, kuksa or sculpture where other gouges simply won't reach. The edge is used across the grain and the handle is levered to make clean finishing cuts across the bottom of the hollow. There is a reinforcing transition forged in from the shank to the blade for added strength. The wooden handles are secured with marine epoxy and a copper ferrule. other sizes and edge radiuses available upon request.
