Private Lessons

I’ve taught blacksmithing and jewelry for years, but since the pandemic began, I began to offer N95-masked, covid tested, one on one blacksmithing lessons at my shop in Bowdoinham Maine. I can teach all levels ages 10 through adult, and if you’ve got something special you want to learn, we can usually come up with a plan. I can sometimes accommodate two people together but the space generally works better for one on one. I can teach you beginning, intermediate or advanced blacksmithing, bladesmithing, wedding bands, axes, loggerheads - you name it.

Prices are based on a $75 / hour rate, with most lessons lasting 4-8 hours, although we sometimes offer discounts. Contact me for details.

Some projects we could possibly do in a one day class :

• Make some wall hooks and wall rack

• S-hooks

• Make a very basic blacksmith knife

• Steel cuff bracelet

• Bottle opener

• Leaf or spiral pendant or keychain

• Basic bbq fork

• Steak turner

• Thor’s hammer pendant

• Basic spoon

• Spatula

• Fire poker

  These are just a few ideas.. let me know your experience (if any) with crafts like metalwork, woodworking etc., and interests and we can go from there.
